Bodies A-Z

Bodies A-Z aims to empower youth of all genders and sexualities in the Greater Montreal community through comprehensive, engaging, and inclusive sexuality education workshops and seminars. This initiative follows and expands on Sex & Self's core principles: intersectionality, autonomy, empowerment, and meaningful engagement.

Lesson plans created by our organization are meant to act as complementary modules to the curriculum of sexual health outlined by the Quebec Education Program.

Support our Volunteers

This month, for the first time, we are moving from virtual instruction straight into physical high school classrooms - an exciting change that comes with its own challenges! Our volunteers will need to get to their schools mostly by public transit or using their own vehicles, and your donation will cover their transit costs.

The money we raise here will go directly to reimbursing our volunteers for their bus fares and gas costs. Your donation, no matter the size will go a long way for us. Every bus ticket is one lesson taught to at least 15 high school students. Every km of gas covered is one invaluable learning experience for a group of students that might otherwise never receive safe Sex Ed.

Bodies A to Z is an initiative started by Sex & Self, a non-for-profit organization with an aim to provide comprehensive sexuality education lessons to youth across Canada. Our goal is to empower students of all genders and sexualities in the community through a comprehensive, engaging, and inclusive curricula. We understand that high school is a time of growth and exploration for most students. Therefore, we aim to give access to diverse and comprehensive information that addresses the social, mental, and relational aspects of reproductive biology to encourage honest and sex positive conversations, prompting students to make the most thoughtful and knowledgable decisions for themselves.

Through the guidance  of our trained volunteers and education coordinators, students will receive the most objective and evidence-based information possible to supplement what has already been learned in health classes. Students will leave each Bodies A to Z lesson equipped with new knowledge allowing them to navigate the transition to adulthood with an improved sense of sexual and self-awareness. Through Bodies A to Z, students will have the opportunity to learn and ask questions about how to navigate their sexuality and early adulthood, with comfort and ease. Our lessons abide by topic-specific Québec Education Program Guidelines (QEP) and competencies. The topics below, when appropriate, have been reviewed by healthcare professionals or other specialized entities to ensure the transmission of the most recent, accurate, and local information in regards to resources and knowledge:
