Read Cut by Hibo Wardere with us!

Eloquent and searingly honest, this is Hibo's memoir which promises not only to tell her remarkable story but also to shed light on a medieval practice that's being carried out in the 21stcentury, right on our doorstep. FGM in the UK has gone undocumented for too long and now that's going to change. Devastating, empowering and informative, this book brings to life a clash of cultures at the heart of contemporary society and shows how female genital mutilation is a very British problem.

Wellness Pantry

Scared of biting the bullet, and enhancing your sexual health experience? Worried sexual wellness devices will define your sexuality? Are you confused about where to start on your sexual health journey?

Fret not, we’ve got you covered!

On April 10th, Sex & Self McGill will launch its Wellness Pantry at Gerts Café & Bar — a project aimed at providing university students with equitable access to sexual health and wellness resources.

Sex and Self recognizes that the stigma surrounding sexual pleasure is widespread in present-day society & that these conditions have produced feelings of immense shame for individuals regarding their sexual health practices.

Knowing this, Sex & Self will be hosting a one-day Wellness Pantry launch event in which students can pick out various gender inclusive, shame-free, pleasure-focused sexual health and wellness products without financial obligations of any kind. While this is a one-day event, we hope to create a long-term, sustainable pantry.

So come on by! We will have free condoms, dental dams, sex toys, lube, environmentally-friendly menstruation products, and gender-affirming products among other things available for everyone!

Wellness Pantry (Concordia)

Confused about where to start on your sexual health and wellness journey?
Looking for products and resources that feel right for you?
We’ve got you covered!

On April 5th, Sex and Self Concordia will be launching its Wellness Pantry!
We recognize that the stigma surrounding sexual pleasure is widespread in present-day society & that these conditions have produced feelings of immense shame for individuals regarding their sexual health practices.

Knowing this, Sex and Self Concordia will be hosting a one-day Wellness Pantry launch event in which students can pick out various gender-inclusive, shame-free, pleasure-focused sexual health and wellness products without financial obligations of any kind.

This event will take place in collaboration with Frigo Vert, a beloved student resource at Concordia, on April 5th from 5:30-7:30pm!
This pantry aims to tackle the disparity in access to high-quality, safe sexual health and wellness products in the community. We hope to address the greater issue of stigma surrounding freedom of sexuality that inevitably reduces access to sexual health resources in this way.

This project will be present at Frigo Vert as a long-term support option/resource for community members. All are invited to engage with our Wellness Pantry! Every product available at the pantry will ALWAYS be free and open to all. It will be regularly refilled and updated as supplies last.
So come on by! We will have free condoms, dental dams, toys, lube, environmentally-friendly menstruation products, among other things available for everyone.

The Sex Ed You've Never Had

What was the worst thing you learned in sex education? Did you even have one? In Canada, the sex-ed most receive is outdated, of poor quality, and underfunded. Although comprehensive sexual education is recognized as a basic human right, many government leaders politicize the issue; ignoring the damaging effects inadequate curriculums can have on young people’s health. At this event, educators in collaboration with Sex and Self's Bodies A-Z Educators will be giving you the sex education class you never had from a sex-positive lens. Come with a pencil and paper in hand because you will want to take notes!
